Here is how I installed a Double Hump X-Member in the FastMont.
I have had alot of questions on installing a double hump into a Fairmont.

Here it is.......
Ok the problem with Fairmont x-member trans mount brackets are they sit to far foward sometimes when you are going to swap to a V8.
So if you have ever tried to remove the trans brackets off the floor pans, its rips the floor pans all up and you'll trash the brackets (trust me I have tried in the past)
What I did was to cut the ends off my sinlge trans x-member and installed them back into the brackets. I then installed the double hump on the back side of the brackets and used long bolts with big washers to go through BOTH x-member ends.
I did have to trim some metal off the back of the brackets but nothing that a Dremel cant take care of.
Check out the pics for a better understanding. BTW my Futura ran mid 12's with this setup so I know it works just fine!
